The image files can be restored at any time and both save and open operations can be executed using buttons that appears in the HomePage or in the screen where the OnWorks session runs.
OnWorks wants full control over all objects in the user's Google Drive account. OnWorks may have access (full control) to a single folder, but should not need - and therefore should not ask for - control over the whole account.
